TAWAS CITY – City officials have plans for new playground equipment at the Tawas City Park and now have seed money to get the project started.
A donation of $5,000 was given to Tawas City by the Tawas Kiwanis Club during a short ceremony at Tawas City Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 26.
Presenting the check to Tawas City Mayor Duane Walters was Kiwanis President Dave Lesinski. The money is slated to go toward the eventual construction of new children’s playground equipment at the Tawas City Park, explained Tawas City Planning Commission Chair Ken Cook.
Playground equipment has been an issue in the park for years, as the city has worked to improve the look and viability of the park, according to Cook.
