TAWAS CITY – Tawas Community Concert Band (TCCB) will soon begin rehearsals for its spring 2020 concert, and members are inviting area musicians to join.
The spring concert is scheduled for Monday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Tawas Area High School (TAHS) Heritage Gymnasium.
Rehearsals are scheduled for Feb. 24, March 2, 9, 16, 30, and April 6 and 13. Rehearsals are from 7 to 9 p.m. in the TAHS music room.
Area musicians are encouraged to dust off their instruments and join the band. There is room in all sections for musicians of all levels. Adult members must be 18 years of age, be able to read music and have an instrument. Student musicians must have the recommendation of their band instructor to join the band.
The concert band meets throughout the year, with concerts in the fall, Christmas, spring and a Concert in the Park Summer Series. Musicians are not required to participate in all concerts to be part of the band.
The mission of the TCCB is to support and encourage the performance of instrumental music in Northeastern Michigan. All concerts are free to the public, with proceeds going toward student music scholarships and performance costs of the band.
