EAST TAWAS – Friends of Tawas Point Lighthouse and State Park will hold its native plant sale May 16 at the state park.

“Our native plant sale was a huge success last year and we will have a great variety of plants again this year,” said Chris Zimmel, secretary of the Friends group.

She said all of the native plants are from a Michigan vendor and are Michigan genotypes. Prices for the plants are $3.50 and $5.50. New this year are some trees and shrubs in gallon containers, individually priced.

Sales will be handled online  only at www.tawaslighthousefriends.com. Sales will be by check or credit card only.

When placing your order, you will be assigned a pick-up date and time. The expected venue for curbside delivery will be at the contact station at the state park, plants will be boxed and brought to your car.  Check the website for the most updated information and how to place an order.
