OSCODA – The popular Loaves and Fishes Cafe twice-weekly free luncheons will be returning, according to organizers, albeit as a drive-thru due to COVID-19.
The first lunch is scheduled for Jan. 18, said organizer Kay Gaines.
The drive-thru lunches will return to the Oscoda United Methodist Church on Mondays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The church is located at 120 Dwight St.
Organizers would like those wishing to get a lunch to enter the church’s driveway from the Dwight Street entrance near Gilbert’s Pharmacy, and pick up their lunch at the church’s second door.
There is a limit to one lunch per person in each vehicle, unless prior arrangements have been made by calling Gaines at 253-209-1954 before 11 a.m. the day of the event.
The event’s weekly soup and sandwich menu will be posted on the group’s Facebook page, according to organizers. The non-profit group is funded through donations for the lunches.
