HALE – The annual Hale Winterfest Ice Fishing Tournament will take place this weekend on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

At the West Londo Lake public access, located at 2607 Plainfield Rd., participants can sign in. According to organizers, participants can fish on either East or West Londo Lakes. 

Similar to years past, there will be prizes for each species of fish for ages 12 and under and 13 and older. Awards include largest pike, largest perch, largest bluegill, sunfish, crappie or other pan fish. There will not be prizes for bass and all prizes will be given away outside of the tent as soon as the tournament is complete. 

According to organizers, there will be a tent with heat featuring hot dogs and hot chocolate. Face masks will be required. Organizers recommend participants bring fishing rods or tip ups, bait, ice auger, warm clothes and something to sit on.
