EAST TAWAS – Typically held the first weekend in February, the annual Perchville USA winter festival has been postponed to mid-March.

The event, sponsored by the Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC), is a long-standing tradition in the community and celebrated its 70th rendition in 2020.

Representatives of the TACC Board of Directors state that they have been working hard behind the scenes on a plan to continue with the yearly festival for 2021.

They noted in a press release that, unfortunately – with current gathering restrictions in place and the uncertainty of the stability of public health in the region – they have decided to postpone this year’s event. Perchville USA has tentatively been rescheduled to be held closer to the end of winter, during the weekend of Friday and Saturday, March 12-13.

“It is our hope that at that time we can proceed with many of the Perchville events we all know and love,” the press release reads.

“Due to the current epidemic orders limiting gatherings, we are just not able to put on the festival in any way that would be that beneficial to our community right now,” explained TACC Board of Directors President, Jeremy Broughton.
