WEST BRANCH – District Health Department No. 2 (DHD2) would like to update the residents of Alcona, Iosco, Ogemaw, and Oscoda counties on upcoming changes to COVID-19 vaccination appointment scheduling as well as upcoming COVID-19 testing opportunities.

Beginning Monday, April 5, , anyone age 16 and older will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals ages 18 and older can visit the DHD2 COVID Vaccination page at www.dhd2.org/vaccine-information and click the link to schedule their appointment. 

Currently, those scheduling an appointment will have a choice of date, time and vaccine to be received. For individuals ages 16 and 17 who are wanting to receive the vaccination, please visit the same website and fill out the pre-registration form. This will let us know to reach out to each minor and their guardian to be scheduled for a Pfizer mass vaccination clinic. For those without internet access wanting to schedule an appointment, please call 1-800-504-2650.

In addition, two COVID-19 rapid testing opportunities will be available to area residents. 

On Sunday, April 4, 2021, testing will be available at Alcona Community Schools in the auditorium parking lot located at 51 N. Barlow Road in Lincoln from 12 to 6:00 p.m. Rapid testing will also be available on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Iosco RESA located at 27 N. Rempert Road in Tawas City from 12 to 6:00 p.m.

No doctor’s note, prescription, or insurance is needed to receive a COVID-19 test.

To date, DHD2 has administered 6,856 first doses, 4,536 second doses and dispersed 5,938 doses to community partners of COVID-19 vaccine.
