PLAINFIELD Twp. – The Michigan State Police (MSP) responded to an incident on July 29, in Plainfield Township, during which falling trees struck a vehicle and caused possible injuries to the passenger.
The event occurred at about 10:35 p.m. on Channel Road, near Humphrey Drive.
Authorities state that Monique Renee Trevarrow, 52, Hale, was driving a pickup truck southbound on Channel Road when numerous trees fell into the roadway and struck the vehicle.
The MSP says Trevarrow was unable to avoid the trees, adding that severe thunderstorms went through the same area two days prior, knocking down trees and power lines.
Upon experiencing disabling damage, the truck operated by Trevarrow required a tow from the scene.
She was unharmed during the incident but her passenger, Todd William Trevarrow, 53, Hale, was reported to have sustained possible injuries.
