OSCODA – Oscoda Township Police Department officers say an Oscoda Township man was killed on July 16 in an ORV crash.
Police were dispatched at 6:20 p.m. to the 4400 block of Loud Dam Road in Oscoda Township, regarding a personal injury accident involving a ORV.
Upon arrival Officers located a male subject, later identified us Darren Stallings, 54, lying on the ground near the ORV.
An assessment of Stallings found him to be deceased, police said.
On scene investigation found that Stallings had been traveling eastbound on Loud Dam Road. Officers said the roadway made a slight turn to the south at which time Stallings’s ORV left the north side of the roadway.
Upon leaving the roadway Stallings’s machine struck a series of mailboxes and a tree ejecting him from the machine.
Allegedly, speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. Toxicology results are pending.
