EAST TAWAS – Iosco-Arenac District Library is sponsoring the 2020 “Imagine Your Story” Virtual Summer Reading Program.

The program begins Wednesday, June 24, at 10:30 a.m., with Cirque Amongus, a “virtual circus,” that children can participate in from home, individually or together with their family. It is a combination of on-line entertainment and interaction designed to encourage creativity and physical activity using everyday items from home. This group, based in Livonia, specializes in circus acts.

REPCO Live presents a live program with up to 10 creatures in every program on Thursday, June 25 at 10:30 a.m. The audience learns interesting and fascinating facts on how to protect their ecosystems and be inspired to become a wildlife warrior. REPCO is a private conservation facility that helps as many species as they can.

Comedy magician and entertainer Cameron Zvara conducts a  live hilarious high-energy show of magic, comedy, juggling and audience participation. He will have you running all over your house looking for props to do tricks. Cameron is a fan favorite and will be online on Tuesday, June 30 at 10:30 a.m.

Visit a magical wonderland with Joel Tacey’s Wonderreader Magic Show on Tuesday July 7 at 1 p.m. Mad Hatter Joel will dazzle with juggling, amaze with comedy, goofy stunts and wacky magic in this live show.

Doug Scheer’s Wacky Science Show live gives lessons on how to do off-the-wall, hands-on, quirky and crazy science experiments using simple household items. The live show begins at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14 and replay a 11:30 a.m. There will be a few fun surprises, so be early. This program can be rewatched through July 16.

Alex Thomas and Friends will present prerecorded “Dewey the Dragon” July 20 through July 26. This colorful puppet show has Dewey and his friends read and act out fun-filled fairy tales.

Joel Tacey will be back with a live Magic Workshop on Wednesday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. Tacey will demonstrate and teach a variety of mysterious magic tricks that can be done with items found in the home.

The Howell Nature Center (HNC) will introduce the audience to four lively animals and Kili, the bald eagle, on Tuesday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. HNC houses and rehabilitates animals at its public facility in southern Michigan.

REPCO Live returns with 10 different animals on Wednesday, July 29 at 10:30 a.m. Attendees will find out what the animals must overcome to exist in the wild and how people can become active stewards of the earth.

Howell Nature Center does a second program with four different animals on Thursday, July 30 at 10:30 a.m. They will highlight each amazing animal and share some ideas on how we can make their lives better.

Magician Jeff Wawrzaszek (pronounced War-zek) will present a Virtual Magic Show on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 10:30 a.m. He combines his “Best of the Best” material from 25 years of library performances into an amazing magic show.

The season will finish up with a performance of the Acting Up Theatre Company presenting the play, “Imaging You’re King.” An variation on the “Sword in the Stone” tale replacing the sword with “Excalibook.” Who will pry the book from the stone? A fun and extremely entertaining program that will debut on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 10:30 a.m. and be available for re-watching.
