TAWAS CITY – The Northern Blend Chorus of Sweet Adelines International will be presenting a “Christmas Memories” performance on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Tawas United Methodist Church.
The group will be doing the same performance later in the dat in West Branch at 7 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church, according to organizers.
This chorus of women perform four-part acapella music in the barbershop style.
They travel from many areas in northeast Michigan to enjoy their love of this unique American art form and they are excited to be able to share it with their audience.
Several members are local residents who are delighted to be bringing their craft into this area spot.
The afternoon performance will included many Christmas selections by the chorus, as well as ensemble groups and the traditional quartets that are a well-known form of barbershop singing.
Song selections are built around chorus members’ favorite holiday memories with many humorous, nostalgic and endearing recollections.
The performance is free of charge. There will be an opportunity to donate to a fund which is dedicated to the chorus’s work in our area schools that promotes a barbershop Youth Harmony Camp Day.
