OSCODA – The first day of summer came right on time for the 36th annual Art on the Beach weekend at Oscoda Beach Park.
The show was filled with sunshine, smiling faces, cold beverages and lots to see and buy. Products offered ranged from attire such as T-shirts, hats and visors to jewelry like necklaces, bracelets and rings to home decor such as stain glass, lawn ornaments, spiced wreaths and painted signs to name a few.
In correlation to the old favorites, many newbies participated including Whirl & Twirl by Dan and Kerry Cleaver offering handcrafted hair accessories, Henna by Jenna, Bahama Bills with his colorful painted yard signs and Galaxy Art by Hilda Artiste who creates three-dimensional pictures using acrylic, among others in attendance.
A favorite of the community according to Oscoda-AuSable Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Rose Fulton is Bill and Pam Hand with BP Wood Products offering birdhouses and lighthouses among other things. The pair has been attending the show since 1996 and explain what keeps them coming back.
“Good sale, close to home and well run,” said Bill. “Rose does an excellent job.”
The show was filled to brim with residents and visitors of all ages enjoying the sunny and bright day.
