OSCODA – On Tuesday, June 23, The Oscoda-AuSable Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted to postpone the 4th of July parade through downtown Oscoda until 2021.

“Please know the board of trustees and staff value these community celebrations and we look forward to enjoying the holiday weekend that celebrates our unity as Americans by taking full advantage of this time with friends and family,” said Wygant.

According to Wygant, Oscoda Township will receive support from the chamber for their fireworks display at dusk on July 4, through community funds raised in the last year at the chamber.

“We agree that a focus on unity, solidarity and common ground will be our focus forward into 2021 and beyond. We are committed to Oscoda and its long tradition of excellence in patriotism for parades on July 4th,” said Wygant.
