ARRESTED – Corey Alexander Chrivia, 21, from Spruce, was recently arrested after stolen weapons were allegedly found at his home

HARRISVILLE –  On Aug. 31 troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Alpena Post took numerous complaints of larcenies from motor vehicles in Alpena Township. 

Troopers obtained a “RING” surveillance video from one of the victims. The video recorded a lone suspect enter the victim’s vehicle in the early morning hours. The video was shared with local law enforcement agencies. The Alpena City Police Department (ACPD) advised they had video of the same suspect from a larceny complaint a few days prior. 

The suspect was identified as a 40-year-old man from Alpena. He was located and interviewed. He implicated an accomplice, 21-year-old Corey Alexander Chrivia from Spruce. Chrivia was arrested by an Alpena parole agent on Sept. 2 when he arrived for a mandatory drug test. 

Troopers and APCD officers executed a search warrant at his residence in Alcona County. During the search warrant two pistols were seized from the residence. One pistol was identified as being stolen from the investigation being conducted by ACPD. The other pistol came back stolen from a separate incident.

Chrivia was arrested and lodged in the Alcona County Jail. He was arraigned in the 81st District Court in Alcona for one count Receiving and Concealing Stolen Firearms and one count Felon in Possession of Firearms. His bond was set at $25,000 cash surety. His next scheduled court appearance is on Sept. 16.

The 40-year-old Alpena man was arrested and lodged in the Alpena County Jail. He has not been arraigned at this time.
