AuSABLE Twp. – Minor injuries were sustained by two people who were involved in a vehicle crash on May 11, in AuSable Township.

The Oscoda Township Police Department (OTPD) states that the incident occurred on US-23, near Smith Street, at 2:50 p.m.

Authorities advise that Alexandria Kristine Emigh, 18, Harrisville, was making a left hand turn onto US-23, from Smith Street.

She told the OTPD that she saw another vehicle approaching and thought she had enough time to pull out. However; the second vehicle, which was northbound on US-23, was struck by Emigh.

Emigh was unharmed but her passenger, Aaron Phillip Nelson, 17, sustained possible injuries and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

According to the OTPD, the driver of the other vehicle was Kim Thomas Crevier, 65, whose passenger was Valeria Sue Crevier, 60, both of Ossineke.

Kim was uninjured during the event, but Valeria was reported to have sustained possible injuries.

Police note that all four people involved in the collision were wearing seat belts at the time, and that neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected as contributing factors.

The Chevy Trailblazer driven by Emigh, as well as the Chevy Silverado operated by Kim, each had to be towed from the scene because of disabling damage.

Following the incident, the OTPD issued a citation to Emigh for failure to yield.
