When Neiman’s Family Market in Tawas City learned of a recent turkey drive in a neighboring county, led by the Michigan State Police (MSP) West Branch Post, they wanted to spread that same holiday cheer to residents in Tawas City and East Tawas. So, on Dec. 16, Neiman’s provided 25 turkeys to law enforcement personnel from the MSP, Iosco County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO) and Tawas Police Authority (TPA). The birds were divvied up among the participants, who immediately hopped in their patrol vehicles to begin passing out the turkeys to families of their choosing. MSP Community Service Trooper Shane Noble said the agencies drove throughout the area in search of people who could use a little boost this season. He added that the turkey drives organized by the MSP are always a fun event for all involved, and that it’s great to know the recipients will have their Christmas dinners covered. Pictured here, from left, are ICSO Sergeant Jim Brink, ICSO Captain Scott Frank, Noble, MSP Trooper Tim Fink, TPA Sergeant/Acting Chief Ryan Gartland and Neiman’s representatives Amy Neiman-Rogers, Lynn Hanft and Ray Shelley.
