WHITTEMORE – The Whittemore-Prescott and Tawas Area bowling teams returned to action on Saturday, as Hi-Skore Lanes over in West Branch served as hosts to the Huron Shores Bowling Conference matches.
The W-P boys team opened the day with a convincing 30-0 win over Bay City All Saints. Logan Ludwig had a pair of solid games, getting rolls of 172 and 171 for a 343 series, Colyn Mackenzie had a game of 179 and Tyler Watkins had a 170.
The Cardinals lost their first match of the season in their second game of the day, falling to Ogemaw Heights 18-12. Watkins led the team with games of 174 and 237 for a solid 411 series, Mackenzie had a game of 193 and Jacob Fanslau had a 195.
The boys team is now 3-1 on the season, a game behind Ogemaw for first place.
The Lady Cards opened the day with a 20-10 win over All Saints. Kiley Skacal had a game of 146, Jayda McKuen had a 120 and Morgan Hawks had a 119.
Ogemaw was able to edge the Lady Cards in their second match of the day however, 16-14. McKuen rolled a 129, Lucia Cruz and Hawks each had games of 121 and Elizabeth Cottrell added a game of 120.
For Tawas, its boys team picked up a win over Charlton Heston, but came up short to Oscoda. Against the Patriots, Connor Finley rolled games of 170 and 131, Jordan Finley had a 138, Caden Raleigh had a 135 and Jonathan Mikkola had a 132. In the loss to the Owls, Mikkola rolled a 176, Connor Finley had a 139 and Jordan Finley rolled up a 136.
The Lady Braves came up short against both Charlton Heston and Oscoda. In their first match, Kirsten Mikkola had a 181 and Aerianna Howe had a 164. In the second match, Mikkola rolled a 164 and Audrey Alexander had a 143.
Huron Shores Conference bowling action shifts to Village Lanes in Harrisville for the girls teams while the boys head to Tawas Lanes.
