HALE – The Hale boys basketball team made its long awaited debut to the court Friday night. The Eagles were able to start the defense of their North Star League Little Dipper title on the right foot, claiming a 58-49 home win over Fairview.
“Well, it was great to see the boys back on the court,” head coach Joe Kimmerer said. “We for sure have room for improvement but we played hard and that was pretty much all I asked them to do for the first night out.”
Hale held a 12-5 lead after the first quarter and stayed ahead at 27-14 at the half and 40-26 entering the fourth.
Leading the way in the win was Keaton Ludwig with a monster 27 points, 14 rebounds and seven steal performance, Brenden Bernard added 13 points and eight rebounds, Gage Kangas nine points and 12 rebounds, Zach Koepke had seven points and Jerrick Johnson chipped in with two points.
Isaiah Ford paced Fairview with 18 points.
