BROOKLYN – Iosco County had two cross country runners compete in Saturday’s Division Three state finals at Brooklyn’s Michigan International Speedway, those being Oscoda Owl Taylor Morse and Tawas Area’s Josie Short.

Short, a junior making her third appearance at the state finals, ran to a 132nd finish place out of 245 runners for a time of 20:55.

Morse, also a junior, was making her first state finals appearance and finished 156th place and ran a time of 21:19.

Morse left the school Friday morning amidst a send off that included the school’s marching band, teachers and classmates as she finished her final practice run.
