ADDITION FOR ANGLERS
ADDITION FOR ANGLERS – The Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) and the Tawas Bay Tourist & Convention Bureau recently sponsored the installation of a fishing board at the DNR Boat Launch in East Tawas, as well as at the Gateway Park boat launch in Tawas City. The boards are to help anglers display their catches and encourage other fishermen to visit the area, says TACC Executive Director Samantha Duvall. Successful anglers are also asked to tag the Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce on Facebook, so that TACC can share the photos. The board for Gateway Park will be erected in the near future but, in the meantime, the one at the DNR Boat Launch in East Tawas has already gotten some use, as seen above. Pictured from left, are local anglers Rod Loeffler and Rick Penn, along with the walleye they caught off Tawas Point on July 14.
